The West JordanHistoricalMuseum is very grateful
to all who have visited the museum lately. The number of people, both local citizens and people from other areas
coming for tours at the museum is increasing every day. Thanks for your interest and visits. We have
had two new baby chicks born in the last few weeks. The mother hen is very protective and the
rooster has been crowing ever since.Spring
is here, the grass is green and the shade is terrific. A perfect time to visit
the museum. We are getting ready for the fourth of July
and our annual Ice Cream Social. The
Ice Cream Social will be held from 2pm
to 4pm right after the
dedication of the new West JordanMilitaryServiceMonument. Our blacksmith will be hard at work in the
blacksmith barn, so come and check him out.We are located directly to the West the monument.

and West Jordan,
a restored manure wagon, a restored wind mill pump, a restored log saw, an old
water wagon. We also received a handmade
quilt with an old Utah
& Idaho West Jordan sugar sack in
the middle.
Concerning the Cottage Inn restoration
project. We just received a grant from
the Office of Museum Services that will allow us to begin restoring the
interior. We currently have one Eagle Scout
project working on the kitchen area of the Cottage Inn.
Our library and research area in the
basement is coming along. We have set up
our tables, chairs, computers, and bookcases. We were able to obtain all but one of the UtahCentennialCounty books, and most of
the other historical books that have been published by the State Historical
Society.We are looking for family
histories, West Jordan
photographs, especially along Redwood and 7800 south and West Jordan memories to add to the library.

scouts and other group tours booked for the coming year. The Sons of the Utah Pioneers will be holding
