The West Jordan Historical Museum News

The West Jordan Historical Museum is very grateful to all who came and supported our 3rd annual “Pumpkin Walk” this past October. It was a tremendous success as the attendance more than tripled from the previous year. We literally ran out of candy, donuts, apples, pumpkins, fishing booth prizes and Dutch oven cooking samples. The children and many of the adults, who came, came in costumes and really enjoyed themselves. Our interactive milking cow was a real hit with both kids and adults. There were lines of people in the blacksmith barn long after the event was over as our blacksmith continued his demonstration. More and more people are discovering and visiting the museum. We would like to thank our many volunteers and sponsors who helped with the success of the day. We are already planning next year’s event. Hope to see you there.

We would also like to thank several Eagle Scouts who recently completed their Eagle Scout projects here at the museum. Thanks to Tevita Folau from troop #1959 for his project in our blacksmith barn. Thanks to Jordan Kennard for painting the museum basement. Thank you to Anthony Neil for his work in the Cottage Inn. Thanks to Devin Heward for his work on the garden shed and Kaden Allred for getting electricity hooked up to the Cottage Inn.

We wish the citizens of West Jordan a safe and wonderful holiday season. Thank you for your support. Admission to the museum is free but we do accept donations. If you would like to be a volunteer at the museum or wish to donate historical items, please give us a call at 255-3116 or 403-9030. For museum hours call 568-0938.
